Welcome to

The School for Alexander-Technique Berlin

Director Jonathan Sheratte

The School for F.M. Alexander Technique, Berlin’, opened in 1998 under the Direction of Dan Armon. Many hundreds have passed through its doors, each with interests and concerns requiring attention.

Musicians, actors, athletes, others too, seeking to improve their performance; compositional artists – painters, writers etc. in search of creative flow; many struggling with stress or reoccurring pain, with burn-out, neck-ache, restrictive mobility, persistent headaches or migraine, sudden anxiety or sleeping problems; individuals looking for orientation and a more meaningful participation in society, or those simply pursuing personal growth and development. Many have tried a variety of disciplines and treatments, each looking for answers, even alleviation, in their questions.

The School for F.M. Alexander Technique Berlin has been a constant and uniquely inspiring environment for addressing those concerns. Many find not only a stimulating, and reassuring inquiry into their needs, but also an effective means for dealing with the roots of the issues at hand.

The space and expanding awareness afforded by the Alexander Technique cultivated at the school enable each one of us to perceive deeply into the causes of behavioural limitations and restricted personal capabilities and shortcomings. It offers an insight into the dynamics present in life’s challenges, and awakens in turn a seemingly boundless potentiality inherent in every one of us.

Throughout the years, the School for F.M. Alexander Technique Berlin has qualified around 150 teachers. Many are still resident in Berlin, some have returned to their homelands around the world. The School remains a hub for a vivid and lively international community of Alexander Teachers, a meeting place for dialogue, exchange and further exploration into the scope and meaning afforded by the Alexander Technique.
